Launching a local start-up and supporting rapid growth

Snak Pack provides vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free snack subscription boxes and hampers. Launched by a husband and wife team in 2016, the start-up has gone from strength to strength and now counts household name brands among their clients.

We’ve known personal trainer Jon Winter and his wife Rosie for years so when they asked us to help them with an exciting new project we jumped at the chance. The initial brief was to come up with brand concepts for a snack subscription box, with deliverables including a logo, colour palette, flyer and ink stamp to use on the product packaging.

Initially we didn’t know exactly what we were looking for, just that it needed to have personality and character,” says Jon. “The Hullo team are very honest and were happy to challenge us on everything from what the design should look like to how it would be received by the market we were aiming for. They were able to give us some very contrasting designs so that we could get a feel for what we wanted.

“Snakpack has always been led by the community,” says Jon. “People were asking for gluten free, vegan and dairy free snacks so that’s what we’ve gone with. Hullo has been on the journey with us. Any design changes we’ve always discussed with them because we know that they’ll be honest with us in terms of giving us feedback and what they see the pitfalls being, which helps us shape vision.”


Brand Evolution

The Snak Pack concept has changed a lot since its launch, evolving to meet customer needs, and the brand has evolved alongside that. We’ve created two new brand iterations and have developed the packaging to include stickers, full box sleeves and postcards.

“As it’s become visually better it’s been picked up more and more,” says Jon. “We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Hullo Creative team. They always go above and beyond to help. It’s been really nice to share the success of Snak Pack with them.”


Sales Success

Snak Pack’s sales have grown year on year, with Christmas sales doubling between 2017 and 2018 and increasing by four times by the following year. In January 2019 sales were 10 times what they had been the January before. They’ve since launched another food product, Amazing Grains, which we branded and created packaging and other marketing materials for.
