Our best moments of 2017

Hey everyone, Suzi here! I just wanted to stop by and say a few words as we head towards the end of the year.

The run up to Christmas is always a bit crazy, isn’t it? There are parties to go to and presents to buy, end of term events and all that work you really need to get finished before the holidays. And then suddenly you realise, wow, we’re almost at the end of another year.

That’s why I like to stop and take stock, to look back over the 12 months that have just gone by, see how far we’ve come and take time to celebrate the wins, big and small. And flip, there have been a lot of them this year!

Mugs, totes and more

One of the most exciting things we’ve accomplished is the launch of the Hullo shop, which has been a dream of mine ever since I first started Hullo Creative. I’m so proud of the beautiful products we’ve developed and the feedback we’ve had from happy customers. We even sold out of a few designs, which was very cool.

Client work has continued to blossom and I couldn’t possibly list every one of the amazing people we’ve worked with. But I did want to talk about one amazing adventure that we went on with KudaCan. Pegah is an absolute powerhouse, and being her design partners as she transformed her children’s play cafe into a full on superhero soft play was such an honour.

We’ve also done rebrands for some of our long term clients like Worthers and Rin Hamburgh & Co. Building genuine relationships with our clients is something we value so highly, which is why it’s such a joy to be able to be walk with them on their business journeys.

And we’ve evolved our own branding too, bringing in a bit more colour to complement our signature blue, plus we’ve launched a series of workshops to help people take control of their own marketing and especially their own website.

Growing our little family

There’s been enormous growth within the Barn too. Hayley and Jade have joined the collective, and Rin hired her first employee (hi Liz!). Nick took the leap to set Filma King up as a limited company, and Niki came on board as our business buddy. Amy’s been doing some incredible things in the world of TV script writing too, and we have no doubt there will be a red carpet in her future. Oh, and Emma had a baby!

I can’t help but remember our Christmas lunch three years ago, when we each wrote out goals for the future on little bits of paper. Looking at those precious scribbles now, it’s amazing to see that not only have we accomplished what we set out to, but we’ve done far more than we could ever have dreamed of.

Running a business isn’t always easy, and we’ve had our fair share of knocks this year too. But when I stop and think about how much we’ve been blessed with, I don’t doubt for a minute that it’s been worth it.

Thank you to each and every one of you who has made our year a brilliant one. We wouldn’t be here without you.

Have an amazing Christmas, and we’ll look forward to seeing you in the New Year.
